First, however, there is Daphne heartbreak. The film opens with a confused Woodley arrives at the word (Lindsay Sloane) house put-together sister without a place to live, no job, and no spouse. It does not appear to be the first time Daphne has a gate-fallen brother and sister in law where happy, but "Endings, Early" finally makes the case that it may actually be the last. It was clear that something terrible had happened to Daphne, but Doremus and Libaire skirt around the real issues (may be too long to give them the actual impact), rather than relying on what we know: Daphne is not there, and it seems to be his own making.

In the cheerful New Year's party (!! suffix beginning), Daphne met two (supposedly very different, but both the level required of a movie star handsome) new man: slim and sexy Frank (Sebastian Stan) and more nerdy Jack (Jamie Dornan). Despite - or, hell, maybe even because of - obviously gutted Daphne, none of them could stop himself. While he pledged weak for herself (and her pal old Best, played by the very welcoming Kyra Sedgwick) to keep away from bad things like men and drink during the next few months, all the better to cure whatever he just been through, he could not ignore the relationship he felt with both Jack and Frank. liquor helped, too.
